How To Perform Umrah: Step by Step

Ihram
Ihram is the special state you enter before performing Umrah. It begins with making the Niyyah (intention) to perform Umrah. Before entering Ihram, it's recommended to:
- Clean yourself by taking a ritual bath (Ghusl).
- Trim nails and remove any unwanted hair.
- Put on the Ihram clothing (simple white clothes for men, and modest clothes for women).
- Make the intention (Niyyah) for Umrah.

Talbiyah
After entering Ihram, pilgrims repeat the Talbiyah prayer:
- "Labbayka Allahumma Labbayk, Labbayka La Shareeka Laka Labbayk, Innal Hamda, Wan-Ni'mata, Laka Wal-Mulk, La Shareeka Lak."
(O Allah, I respond to Your call. There is no partner with You. All praise, grace, and sovereignty belong to You alone.)
Tawaf
When you reach the Kaaba, you walk around it seven times in a counterclockwise direction, starting from the Black Stone. You pray and ask Allah for forgiveness during this.
Sa'ee
After Tawaf, you walk seven times between the hills of Safa and Marwah, remembering the story of Hagar (Hajra) looking for water for her son.
Hair Cutting
At the end of Umrah, men shave their heads (Halq), and women cut a small part of their hair (Taqsir) to leave the state of Ihram. It represents humility and submission to Allah.

Planning Your Umrah Journey
Before embarking on your Umrah journey, it is important to plan and prepare adequately. Here are some key steps to help you get started

Choose the right time of year to perform your Umrah. The peak seasons during Ramadan is very busy and crowded, while the off-peak seasons offer a more relaxed and peaceful experience.
Familiarize yourself with the rituals and customs of Umrah, including the steps of Tawaf (circumambulating the Kaaba seven times), Sa'i (walking between the hills of Safa and Marwa), and the cutting of hair (for men).
